Ropes hot cutting

Ropes hot cutting

A normal procedure in production of ropes, when they are cut into sections (standard or non-standard), is securing the ends of the rope with ordinary adhesive tape to prevent them from unravelling.

At the Customer's request, as an additional paid service, we can perform thermal cutting of the rope. That means cutting the rope with a hot knife. The heated blade of the knife causes the synthetic rope* to melt slightly at the place of cutting and then when it cools down, the end of the rope is sealed creating a seamless edge. In this way the rope is fully protected from unravelling and the rope itself takes on a greater aesthetic look. This service is especially recommended when the rope is to perform, for example, decorative functions.

*the service applies only to synthetic ropes, natural ropes cannot be cut with a thermal knife
